DR TRACEY WOND
Director and Lead Consultant
Tracey is an organisational development professional with over 15 years experience of working in and with organisations to improve their focus and performance. She has worked with a diverse range of organisations (local authority, emergency services, sole traders, charities, central governments (in the UK and beyond), community organisations, funding organisations, other nonprofits, international corporations) across many sectors (public sector, construction, manufacturing, education, association management, economic development, community development, cafes) to deliver reviews of work practice, overcome team challenges, build capability, facilitate action learning, design and implement new frameworks for working, and objective set.
Tracey began her career in the public sector with roles such as Projects Officer on a police transformation project, and as an Evaluation and Monitoring Officer for a local authority. She secured a fully funded PhD research studentship focusing on evaluating enterprise growth programmes, and whilst undertaking her PhD delivered the evaluation of a multi-million pound enterprise programme. Tracey continued her career in academia reaching a leadership role as Head of Research (College of Business, Law and Social Sciences, University of Derby), but always in applied research roles where she delivered evaluation and improvement projects with external organisations and publicly funded projects.
Her passion for research-informed practice led her to develop the novel, Doctorate in Professional Practice at the University of Derby, where she was able to work with senior executives and managers in organisations including Rolls Royce, the NHS, Cabinet Office and Government of Malta to design and deliver improvement and research projects. She has taught to MBA and DBA levels in subjects including organisational development, organisational behaviour and people development (and is trained herself to CIPD level 5 associate level). Her research into organisational behaviours, the evaluation profession, evaluation methodology and careers have been internationally published and Tracey has undertaken several keynotes and invited speaker sessions including to the Polish Agency for Economic Development and Islamic Relief Worldwide. She has also acted as Academic Advisor to the Argidius Foundation.
Tracey remains part-time at the University of Derby, currently supporting the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences to develop narratives about the impact of their research, as well as developing a central evaluation unit.
She is currently Council Member and Director/Treasurer for the UK Evaluation Society, and a Trustee of South Derbyshire CVS.
